Bay View B & B is situated in the heart of the seaside town of Kilkee with magnificent views to the Kilkee Bay and Cliffs. Established since 1883 it has a long tradition with the Hickie Family welcoming guests in their tastefully decorated home. The Hickie Family established Bay View bed and breakfast in 1883, Mary Hickey and son John are continuing on the family tradition. The house has a lovely interior consisting largely of antique Victorian furniture.

Bay View bed and breakfast have single, double, twin and family bedrooms, all en-suite. The rooms are equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and satellite tv. Some rooms offer magnificent views of the bay and cliffs. Beside the en-suite bedrooms it offers a residents lounge, and a nice sun porch with views to the Kilkee Bay and the lively town centre of Kilkee. This provides some lively entertainment during the summer season.

Enjoy views of the life in town also of the bay and cliffs while sitting on the comfortable armchairs in the sun porch. The lounge has an open fireplace and comfortable armchairs and sofas. Next door, Hickie's Bar is a lively, Traditional Irish bar with a blend of contemporary design. Hickies is a bar that offers guests true Irish hospitality, great service and the best entertainment with live music every Saturday night and six nights a week in the high season. Kilkee has long been one of Clare's main holiday resorts. The town of Kilkee itself has all kinds of shops, some fine restaurants, an indoor water pool (Kilkee Waterworld) and a cinema (in season only). For the golfing enthusiast Bay View is the ideal place to stay as it is only 5 mins from the Kilkee Golf Links Course and 15 mins from Greg Norman designed Doonbeg Golf Links Course.

The Cliff scenery all along to Loop Head Lighthouse though is one of Kilkee's greatest natural attractions. Loop Head Drive will take you to numerous scenic outlooks as well as to cliff angling spots. A variety of rare birds, dolphins, whales and seals appear regularly on and around Loop Head Peninsula.

The safe sheltered sandy beach is protected by Duggerna Reef, which is a natural wonder itself with some large and small rock pools full of marine life.

Local attractions include safe swimming, walking, tennis, squash, golf, pitch and putt, children's amusements, free-diving and surfing. The area offers quite a few natural amenities around its horseshoe shaped bay. Breathtaking cliff walks offer splendid scenery.
